The Striking Game
Kicking, punching, interception,
rhythm, timing, and entry.
Developing striking skill,
and composure at range.
Shinkenpo Karate Kenkyūkai is a martial arts research group built around ongoing, serious training.
We wear a gi, bow in, and train hard. The atmosphere is disciplined. The contact is real.
Shinkenpo draws from multiple arts; integrated through continuous rounds of contact sparring rather than preserved as separate traditions. What survives that process is what becomes your art.
The training is structured to create pressure. Over time, it builds composure and the ability to stay clear when it matters, on and off the mat.
The guiding principle of Shinkenpo is seishin tanren:
the forging of spirit through disciplined training.
Conditioning, repetition, and kumite form the forge.
The goal is not toughness as a personality.
The goal is refinement under pressure.
Kicking, punching, interception,
rhythm, timing, and entry.
Developing striking skill,
and composure at range.
Clinch under fire, grips, kuzushi,
sweeps, trips, and throws.
Taking the fight from striking
range to decisive positions.
Sudden haymakers, grabs, headlocks,
crashes, and rough contact.
Training to solve messy problems
under pressure.
It is the current expression of a training direction developed over many years through Kenpo, Jeet Kune Do, and Karate-based training.
Its structure draws from the contact culture of Kyokushinkai Karate and related arts. Its striking base comes from Jeet Kune Do and practical kickboxing. Its self-defense logic comes from Kenpo Karate.
These are not preserved as museum pieces. They are the raw material.
Shinkenpo is organized as a kenkyūkai —
a research society.
Our purpose is honest investigation,
pressure-testing, and documentation.
We are a forge for serious practitioners.
There is no final destination,
only continuous refinement.
Train with sincerity.
Refine without end.
Carry it into your life.
